Dear friends,
Greetings from ProximityCuba!
We are writing you to invite you to Cuba once again!
As you may know the U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) announced that, as of June 5th 2019 travel to Cuba under the “People-to-People category” and by cruise ship are now forbidden. As a result of this new change on the regulations, several cruisers companies and travel agencies were forced to cancel their trips to Cuba. This modification in the law brought about also the wrong idea that traveling to Cuba was not possible one more time. Fortunately, it is still legal to travel to Cuba and we have decided to continue to work within the frequently-changing regulations to help U.S. citizens travel legally to Cuba and to fulfill their wishes to connect in constructive ways with the Cuban people.
ProximityCuba, in collaboration with Medea Benjamin, a peace activist and co-founder of the women-led peace group CODEPINK, are presenting the RESTORE DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS WITH CUBA DELEGATION! This trip, which falls under the “support for the Cuban people” category, will take place in Havana during the 5th anniversary of the historical announcements by former presidents Barack Obama and Raúl Castro to begin restoring diplomatic relations between United States and Cuba.
With options starting at $595, you may travel to Cuba in this program legally designed for American citizens to support the Cuban people. We will meet with community projects, grassroots and non-governmental organizations, stay in bed & breakfasts, and enjoy Cuban food in privately and cooperatively owned paladares while engaging alongside Cubans in specially selected cultural activities. This delegation is open for peace activists, artists, academics, non-profits groups and past Cuba travelers. We are inviting participants from all over the United States and Canada, specially those who have traveled to Cuba before and think that it is crucial these days to demand the full normalization between both countries and support the lifting of the travel ban and the blockade against the Cuban people.
We are currently requesting a meeting with U.S. officials at the U.S. Embassy in Havana on December 17th, to discuss strategies on how we can effectively support the Cuban people and engage in humanitarian projects. The same day, we will meet with the press to announce the results of our conversation.
We are offering two itineraries – one from December 14-18, and an extended program from December 14-21. We strongly urge you to participate in this delegation. It really is the most important thing you can do for Cuba this year! We will let you read the full itineraries and costs for yourselves on our website:

We would love if you could join this trip and/or spreading this information with your colleagues, friends and loved ones. We know this is asking a lot, but this is unique opportunity to take a stand for Cuba!
