Argentinian Senator Cristina Fernández de Kirchner met Raúl Castro, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, in Havana on Monday.
The meeting between the two ex-mandatory was informed through Twitter by the Cuban chancellor, Bruno Rodriguez, in a protocol message that did not give details on the topics addressed.
Cristina Fernández has been in Cuba since March 14 and plans to stay for a week. Although she is not forbidden to leave Argentina, she notified her trip to the different courts where she is being investigated for various reasons.
“The [judicial] permit expires on the 22nd, so she will surely be here on Friday,” said her lawyer Carlos Beraldi. He also added that “so far there is no element that implies an extension” of that time.
On the same day she left for Cuba, the former president published a video on her social networks in which she reported on the health situation of her 29-year-old daughter, which prevented her from traveling by plane.
